Halfway Bush Park is the main neighbourhood playground and sports reserve for Halfway Bush and Wakari, an outer hill suburb on Dunedin's western fringe. The playground has a good spread of equipment for a reserve this size: a climbing frame with a slide, a spinner, a supernova glider, a see saw and swings with an infant seat, plus a half basketball court, all on artificial and bark surfacing with picnic tables and seating.

Great park - grew up around here and spent a lot of time here. The rocking horse is well gone but there are swings, a slide, see saws (these can be dangerous so keep well away from the hinge) and there is some seating. A very large sports ground area which currently has football goal posts up. We used to fly kites here amongst the HV wires that transition the north-west end of the park beyond the school. Recommended for a visit on a sunny day. Lived across the road at 93 from age 7, my mother lives across the road in the same house from 1969 till 2024.
