On the plus side, there are shaded picnic tables and mats under the swings. However the paths are gravel making scooter use a problem and the tall blue slides have warped waves. A paved pad for teaching bike riding and ball sports would be a nice addition. The ponds and forest are a fantastic area for kids to explore.

What's here
Beckenham Park playground in St Martins, Christchurch, is built around the Rocktopus, a spinning multi armed structure that younger children can clamber onto together and set in motion, the kind of collaborative play equipment increasingly common in upgraded council parks. It sits inside a medium sized play space within a five hectare southern Christchurch sports park, and suits ages three to ten particularly well.
