Holliss Reserve Playground

A small pond with resident ducks and eels sits alongside the play area at Holliss Reserve, and combined with a full playground and a basketball half court, this Cashmere park feels more complete than most neighbourhood reserves of its size. Best for ages 2 to 12.

Equipment

The playground centres on a junior multi play structure with a slide, a second larger multi play climbing structure, a see saw, a further slide, swings (including an infant seat) and a tyre swing. A carousel adds a spin element alongside the main climbing pieces. Council data lists the surface as woodchip, covering around 663 m². A fenced junior area serves younger visitors, and a sealed path loops through the reserve, doubling as a scooter circuit.

Access and Inclusion

The fenced junior area gives toddlers a contained space to play, and the infant swing suits young families directly. On street parking is available on Holliss Avenue, which carries only light traffic.

Public toilets and seating are on site. The reserve is an easy walk from central Cashmere, and walking tracks into the Port Hills begin nearby for families wanting to extend their outing. The half basketball court at the far end draws older children after school, broadening the age range through the afternoon.
