Great playground, different bits of equipment and sets of swings with a large central slide. Plenty of grass and shade around the reserve
Holliss Reserve Playground
Cashmere, Christchurch 8022
Why these ages?
Fenced junior area with infant swing gives toddlers a contained zone. Small pond with ducks/eels in reserve is water risk, but fenced play area separates toddlers from it. Two multi-play structures, second slide, tyre swing, carousel and basketball half-court cover child through early tween. Sealed scooter loop and light Holliss Ave traffic further reduce cognitive load.
Access notes
A sealed path loops through the reserve and doubles as a scooter circuit, a genuine step free approach, but council data lists the play area surface itself as woodchip, which blocks wheelchair access onto the equipment.
What's here
A small pond with resident ducks and eels sits alongside the play area at Holliss Reserve, and combined with a full playground and a basketball half court, this Cashmere park feels more complete than most neighbourhood reserves of its size. Best for ages 2 to 12.
