A really lovely clean beach with a playground for multiple ages, responsible freedom camping area, cold showers, minimal toilets & a couple of rubbish bins. One late night party goer spoiled the atmosphere for a while, but other than that a nice place to freedom camp for up to 4 nights. Be aware the parking spaces are standard length with no extra room

Sheltered park with beach access. Two forts, swings, slides, and flying fox. More suitable for kids 4+. Plenty of parking around. There's a cafe nearby and the day we went a Mr Whippy van was parked up in the car park near the public toilets and drinking fountain.

There is very clearly marked freedom camping by the children's park/park run. Great location with beach access and toilets.

I held a duathlon at Broad Park: A Quickie on the Beach. It's such a great public place, the kids love the playground, the beach is just over the sand dune and there is a fantastic track leading North which borders the shoreline and Bottle Lake Forest Park - great for biking and walking/running.

Waimairi beach has a great park at the front, the beach is beautiful, it can get busy, even though we went in the middle of winter. The Mr Whippy ice cream truck tends to park out in the carpark. Not much parking in the carpark, but plenty on the side of the road.

Our grandson loves this park. Flying fox etc. Under cover table and seating for a picnic .Toilets close by. Brighton Beach House Cafe is just across the road if you need a coffee or refreshments. Or take a walk along the track and explore. This track will leave you into the Burwood Plantation. Lots to do for entertaining then. You have the beach to exp

This place is amazing! Not a kid anymore but it was so tempting! Went with a teenager and watched kids play. Very inspiring and thank you Christchurch city council for building this great place next to the beach!
