David Lange Park

David Lange Park in Mangere, Auckland, is built around a raised earthwork mound with a climbing module, balance logs and a tunnel running through it, alongside swings and a basket swing, and it plays well for toddlers through to primary school aged kids.

A pump track and a basketball court were added to the park in 2024 as part of a wider round of Auckland Council community asset investment, giving older children and teenagers a reason to stick around after the playground itself is done.

The surface is bark with only minimal tree shade over the equipment, so sun protection is worth packing on hot days. On street parking is available, and the site is smokefree under Auckland Council policy. The original playground has been open since before 2019.
