Why these ages?

Wooden fort with slide and infant swing suits toddlers through lower-primary on bark surface. BMX track is at the northern end of a 14-hectare reserve so well separated from the play area (distance mitigation). Flying fox and BMX give strong tween appeal. Reviewers note 'playground is outdated and has significant hazards for children (I have addressed this with ICC)' - a caution but non-specific. Also broken glass and locked toilets flagged. John/Lime/Rimu Streets are residential Invercargill streets, not arterial.

Access notes

Description says the terrain is flat throughout with formed paths and multiple street entries, easy to reach with a pushchair. The playground itself sits on bark, and several reviews report the on site toilets are often locked, undercutting the listed toilet access.

Big beautiful park. Great in summer with an awesome bmx track. Playground is outdated and has significant hazards for children. I have addressed this with the ICC

My dogs favourite place! Lots of room for a good run and a bunny rabbit or two for a good chase 😁 It has two BMX tracks and a play ground with a flying fox 😁 …

Nice playground and walking tracks, but there are no toilets available (there is a building that looks like it may have been a toilet block - there were no signs- are but it was locked).

This playground is just up the road from us and it is definitely a favorite. My daughter absolutely loves it and the zipline is great fun! The only draw back is people who let their dogs off the leash in the play area. There is plenty of open spaces for dogs to run.

It's a great playground and the bike tracks are really fun for kids. The downside is the toilets were locked and there are no other public toilets around. Also there tends to be broken glass and rubbish so keep your shoes on.

This is a great park well maintained by our City Council. It is home to our local BMX track and is criss crossed with walking tracks. It is also well lit and appears to be the habitat for a few animals. e.g. bunnies and ducks. It also has two well equipped playgrounds and a flying fox. Great place for some fun with the Children without costing a lot of money.
