Highcliff Road Playground

Highcliff Road Playground is a small neighbourhood playground in Shiel Hill, a residential suburb on the western end of the Otago Peninsula about 3km southeast of central Dunedin. The equipment is scaled for younger children: a climbing frame with bars, a slide and swings that include an infant seat, on bark and artificial surfacing with seating nearby, and the playground has been built or renewed within the last five years.

Shiel Hill's main road, Highcliff Road, continues on toward Portobello and the wider Otago Peninsula, so a stop here works well alongside a longer drive out to the peninsula's beaches and walks. There's no dedicated car park, though on-street parking is available along Highcliff Road and the surrounding streets.
