Huntington Playground

Perched on a ridge above Sommerset Heights in Hamilton's Huntington suburb, this small playground has a rare asset for the city: a sweeping view south to Mount Pirongia and west to the Hakarimata Range.

Equipment

The playground has a standard set of swings including an infant swing, seesaws and a multi play structure with slide, on an artificial surface. The site was recently renovated.

Access and Inclusion

The reserve is mostly sloping, which limits flat run around space but adds to the elevated, panoramic character of the site. Street parking is the main access option, and there is enough grass for a casual game of cricket if you work with the gradient.

Practical Info

No confirmed toilet facilities are on site. The ridge position catches the afternoon light, and it works well as a sunset stop as much as an after school play visit.
