Kildare Street Playground

Kildare Street Playground is a neighbourhood play space in Waikiwi, northern Invercargill, sitting between Kildare and Holloway Streets with an additional right of way from Cargill Street.

Equipment

The playground has climbing frames, a play module with climbing and sliding features, a double swing, a seesaw and spinning equipment, on an artificial surface.

Access and Inclusion

Multiple entry points make the playground reachable from several directions within the neighbourhood. On street parking is available on Kildare Drive and surrounding streets, with seating on site for accompanying adults.

History and Cultural

The playground has served the Waikiwi community since at least 2010, in a suburb bounded by the Waihopai River to the south and farmland to the north.

Practical Info

Invercargill City Council operates a smokefree policy at the playground. There is no overhead shade over the equipment or seating.
