Neale Park

Neale Park is a big multi use reserve between North Road and the Maitai River in The Wood, Nelson, where a fully fenced toddler playground sits alongside one of the city's largest skateparks. It suits families with a mix of ages, toddlers in the fenced corner and older kids on wheels.

Equipment

The fenced junior area has toddler friendly climbing and play equipment, while older children gravitate to the extensive climbing structures nearby. Next door, a large concrete skatepark with two bowls, rails, ledges, half pipes, quarter pipes, and flat banks is free to use and suits riders of all abilities, with toilets right beside it.

Practical Info

Neale Park covers 31.4 acres and includes a basketball court, restrooms, drinking water, and ample parking at the end of Sovereign Street. Adjacent fields convert to football pitches through winter, and walking and running trails connect to the wider Maitai River walk network.
