Equipment
Pioneers Park is a Nelson City Council neighbourhood reserve at 10 Washington Road in Washington Valley, central Nelson. The land was filled by the Nelson Board of Works between the 1860s and 1928 and opened in 1929 as Pioneers Park to honour Nelson's early settlers. The playground is fenced with a child-lock gate and includes a small climbing wall, with a drinking fountain, toilets and a big open field alongside for ball games. Best treated as a quiet central-Nelson stop with strong toddler-friendly fencing.
