Saxton Field Playground

Saxton Field's playground sits inside a 65-hectare sports complex in Stoke, jointly run by Nelson City and Tasman District Councils, with the play equipment reached by accessible paved paths a short walk from Saxton Stadium and Saxton Pond.

Equipment includes baby and toddler swings, a climbing frame, a rocktopus climber, and tower and wavy slides with geodesic climbing structures and sensory panels, on bark surfacing with safe softfall underneath and caregiver seating close by.

Access and Inclusion

Accessible paved paths connect the playground to the wider complex, useful for prams and wheelchairs moving between the play area and the sports fields, pond, and walking trails.

Off street parking is available on Saxton Road. Shade sails cover the picnic table; the play equipment itself has no shade.
