Why these ages?

Recently rebuilt with dedicated younger and older zones, but a reviewer notes the two sides are split by a road that runs between them, so any toddler needs a hand from one zone to the other. Covered picnic seating, accessible features, outdoor gym across the road, and infant swing. Fine supervised, road crossing caps the let-them-roam factor.

Accessibility
Partial access
+ Accessible toilet on site- Bark or wood-chip surface (wheels sink)
Access notes

The play surface is bark, a barrier for wheels, but a 2026 rebuild of the wider park explicitly added accessible toilets near the play area. Parking is on street only, with no dedicated accessible bay described.

Ti Rakau Playground is a small neighbourhood playground inside Ti Rakau Park in Pakuranga, East Auckland, built around a swing set with an infant seat and a slide. It sits within a much larger sports reserve used for rugby league and other codes, with walkways linking the play area to open fields and fitness stations, so families often add it on to a visit for sport rather than treating it as a standalone destination.

Park for all ages council took time to rebuild it but it cale flying colours... Hope they can maintain and plus common people who uses it for children. I am surprised how come council had done such good work well planned.

The new playground is divided into 2 sides of the road, where one side is for younger children and the other is for older and even adults. Really new and safe playground. Also the best thing is there are plenty of shaded seats for parents and caregivers to sit on while watching their little ones.

Awesome playground for the kids. Many of the activities are surprisingly accessable. And there is a covered picnic area right beside the playground. Across the road the playground continues with some outdoor gym equipment and swings. Really great
