Wandle street Playground/Park

Wandle Street Playground leans into game based play more than most Christchurch reserves: four square and hopscotch courts are painted into the surface alongside balance logs, working equally well for structured games and simple climbing and sliding. It's a compact, newer park tucked inside the Prestons subdivision in Marshland. Best for ages 2 to 10.

Equipment

A tubular slide and swings form the core equipment, with a basket wing swing giving younger children a more supported riding position. Four square and hopscotch markings add a game dimension for school aged children, and balance logs provide a lower threshold physical option for smaller visitors. The play area covers around 46 m².

Access and Inclusion

The subdivision's footpath network is smooth and flat, well suited to scooters, bikes and prams, and the park is unfenced onto the surrounding reserve grass. The connected path network through Prestons means the playground is walkable from most homes in the estate.

Practical Info

On street parking is available on the surrounding residential streets, with seating at the park. The Prestons retail hub on Prestons Road has a supermarket and cafe a few minutes' drive away, and Travis Wetland Nature Heritage Park and Bottle Lake Forest Park are both a short drive for a longer outing.
