Why these ages?

Description explicitly targets ages 2-10, with a basket wing swing giving toddlers supported riding, low-threshold balance logs and a smooth flat path network for prams and scooters. The play area opens onto reserve grass in a quiet Prestons subdivision, no road, water or tall-fall hazards flagged. Four square, hopscotch and tubular slide suit primary-age; little on offer for tweens beyond the space to run.

Access notes

Description states four square and hopscotch courts are painted directly into the surface, implying a hard flat ground, and that the subdivision footpath network reaching the park is smooth and flat, well suited to scooters, bikes and prams.

Wandle Street Playground leans into game based play more than most Christchurch reserves: four square and hopscotch courts are painted into the surface alongside balance logs, working equally well for structured games and simple climbing and sliding. It's a compact, newer park tucked inside the Prestons subdivision in Marshland. Best for ages 2 to 10.

Really good playground and gets five stars for that awesome slide. Definitely one of the best that we’ve visited recently. Well designed, safe and super slippy!

Definitely the best playground in this subdivision out of the three I’ve been to! But one lot of the photos from these reviews are from a different playground - this one has a long multi coloured tunnel slide and a net swing but not the climbing tower and short slide pictured!

My kids favorite park mainly for the big slide. Really good for young kids 5 and under. The over sized net swing is great for dads to relax in while the kids run amok.

Cool playground. Not much here but plenty of space to run around and a long slide.
