2021 ecology-themed redevelopment with two giant slides, acorn fort tower, infant swing, junior multi-play structure, musical station and beginners bike track. Excellent all-weather accessible surfacing. But it sits on the edge of Te Wai Orea lake with no fencing described between the play zones and the water. Real toddler zone but the parent still needs sightlines to the lake.

The 2021 redevelopment explicitly removed steps and ridges and installed all weather surfaces so wheelchairs and prams can move freely across the play area, and a review corroborates inclusive accessible pathways. No accessible parking, toilet or transfer equipment is described.

The ecology theme design by Playco NZ was chosen by community members over an urban-themed alternative.
