Avondale Park

Avondale Park is a small neighbourhood park and playground on Mervyn Drive in Avondale, on the eastern edge of Christchurch, with the Port Hills visible across its open grass. It sits next to the residential red zone and the Otakaro Avon River Corridor, which makes it a quiet stop for a walk with the dog as well as a play.

Reviewers call it great for older children and good for a nephew aged three and another aged six, but say it is not the best fit for one to four year olds. Partial fencing is mentioned, so keep an eye on wanderers near the road side.
