Burling Park

Burling Park is a neighbourhood playground in the Lansdowne suburb of Masterton, refurbished and expanded in 2021 with a double flying fox and an upgraded swing set.

Equipment

The 2021 refurbishment added a double flying fox, a basket swing, and a modular active play system with a climbing net, an overhead traverse, stepping stones, a balance walk and a slide. The existing swing set was upgraded with adult swings, a half bucket child seat, and an expression tandem swing for a parent and baby to face each other while swinging. Bark surfacing covers the play area, with picnic tables on site.

Practical Info

The play area has minimal tree cover, so the flying fox gets some shade from adjacent trees but most of the equipment and seating is unsheltered. On street parking is available, and the nearest public toilets are at Henley Lake, reached through the Colombo Road entrance.
