Why these ages?

Infant swing and simple multi-play suit ages 1-3, but the description explicitly notes the reserve is unfenced from the surrounding street and 'supervision near the edges is worthwhile for families with confident walkers'. Inner-suburb Edgeware street traffic makes this a supervised toddler stop, not a let-them-roam one.

Accessibility
Partial access

Access notes

Description explicitly states bark chip covers the play zone, a barrier for wheelchair users, though the reserve is described as flat and an easy walk from the surrounding streets, with no dedicated toilets on site.

Champion Reserve Playground is a small, straightforward play space in Edgeware, one of Christchurch's denser inner suburbs where the nearest open ground genuinely matters to local families. Best for ages 1 to 8, it isn't a destination playground: it's reliable and close, and it delivers on both counts.

A great playground in an area of town where there's cars parked on the streets and its a high a density population region of town. To have this as a reserve or play ground is a welcome inclusion.

Great Play ground for those children age Between 1 and 3 as it includes two multi-play structures with swings for the older kids. If this note above helps please give it a like

Nice little park. Just a real shame that a lot of dog owners don't pick up after their dogs. Sometimes it gets to the stage you have to watch where you step. Also I car keeps driving on the lawns and is marking it
