St. Albans Park Playground - South

St. Albans Park Playground South is a well equipped play area on the southern side of St Albans Park, mixing a multi play structure with slide and tunnel, a rocktopus climbing piece and a spring loaded see saw across a large grassed footprint. It suits a wide age range, from toddlers on the infant swings to older kids on the balance beam and climbing equipment.

The equipment includes a balance beam, a glider, general climbing equipment, a multi play structure with slide and tunnel, a rocktopus, a spring loaded see saw, a solo spinner and spring toys, plus swings with an infant seat. A half basketball court and a skateboard ramp sit alongside for older kids, all set on a woodchip surface across roughly 494 square metres of grass.

Access and Inclusion

The infant swings and spring toys suit younger children, while the balance beam and climbing equipment give older kids more of a challenge on the same site.

A drinking fountain, public toilets and seating are on site. St Albans is one of Christchurch's established inner northern suburbs, about two kilometres from Cathedral Square, and the Edgeware village shops on Edgeware Road are an easy walk away for a coffee after a play.
