Coulbeck Reserve Playground is one of those rare road-trip discoveries that rewards a quick detour off State Highway 1. Sitting in the heart of Leithfield Village, about 42 kilometres north of Christchurch and five kilometres south of Amberley, it has become a well-known stop for Canterbury families heading up the North Canterbury coast, and is particularly valued by parents travelling with young children who need a proper run-around in a safe, fully enclosed space well away from highway traffic.

Nice playground, lots of space to run around in. Equipment for all ages, and a nice monster slide which might be the highest we’ve seen in Canterbury! Beautiful spot for the kids, and has picnic tables and toilets too

Lovely spot to stop at on the way through, fantastic for kids to stretch their legs and run around while ya take a bathroom break.
