Why these ages?

Directly adjacent to Waitemata Harbour beach with no barrier - real drowning risk for wandering toddlers, though tide is often out. Hamster wheel, infant swing, spring toy and basket swing suit toddlers to early primary; reviewer confirms 10yo bored, 5yo loves it. Tubular slide and tower add some challenge but tween appeal is thin.

Accessibility
Partial access

Access notes

Description confirms level, step free access running straight from the path onto the play area, but also states that bark and artificial surfacing sit under different parts of the layout, meaning some equipment areas remain bark underfoot.

Equipment

Eric Armishaw Park's signature piece is a large hamster wheel that kids climb inside and spin, sitting right on the Waitemata Harbour edge in Point Chevalier. A tower with a tubular slide, a spinner, a spring toy and an embankment slide round out the layout, with swings covering every age including a basket swing and an infant swing, and a large grassy area to run once the equipment loses its novelty.

Nice quick little break area with a nice view. Got some take-away and parked up in the car. Nice little walk or cute spot to take some photos or just enjoy the view

Really cool local park, feels very open and peaceful here. Good - equipment is pretty decent, giant hamster wheel definitely loads of fun. Close to the beach, has a small bike track leading out to Pt Chev and massive toilets and even has a shower. Bad - no sun cover, killer during the day. Not close to any shops or cafes. Great place to picnic and relax with the kids.

Good venue. Great for families, talks and walking your dog (with leash) some parks may prohibit this please check sign or with council. Very spacious and new playground facility, nature walk tracks and great scenery for seeing the sunset. …

Eric Armishaw Park is a fantastic place for a relaxing afternoon. It's got a great playground for the kids and plenty of open space, perfect for a picnic. If you're feeling more active, there are walking trails, a beach for surfing or flying kites, and it's dog-friendly too! For a quieter experience, it's best to visit outside of public holidays and weekends. It's a well-maintained park, and a great spot to enjoy the outdoors. I highly recommend it if you're in the area!

We cycled/walked from Waterview to here and love this small marine reserve park.. Not so crowded playground, with few picnic tables, toilets and parking..

Parking, toilets and a walkway. The park has a large hampster wheel which is a bit different from the normal park. The beach is swimable at high tide and lots of people come here to launch paddle boards and kayaks.on a windy day it's fun to watch all the kite surfers here. There is some motorway noise but it is a city.
