Great place to take the kids. Big enough for parents to climb and play with their kids if wanted. Some parts are still fenced off and being constructed but still a lot of space for kids to run around and use up energy. Massive skate bowl, 2x flying foxes, sandpit etc. There is something to keep every child entertained
Hayman Park Playground
22 Amersham Way, Manukau City Centre, Auckland 2104
Why these ages?
Separate toddler-friendly area with sand, accessible carousel, basket + tyre swing, hammock, infant swing bay, musical instruments — but the site is dominated by a 12.8m tower, two flying foxes, skate bowl and pond, and one reviewer says 'not the best for under 5s'. Toddler zone is described as its own separate area which counts as distance mitigation. Older kids and tweens have arguably NZ's best big-kid park.
Access notes
The description names an accessible carousel in the younger children area and states the ground is finished in artificial surfacing. Accessible parking and an accessible toilet are not specifically confirmed in the text.
What's here
Hayman Park's play tower stands 12.8 metres tall, the tallest play tower in New Zealand, with a climbing wall and tubular slide running from its summit and a rooftop seesaw near the top. It suits families chasing a big physical challenge as much as toddlers content with gentler play nearby, spread across a very large site.
