Holben Reserve Playground

Holben Reserve in Foxton Beach earned Green Flag Award status in the 2025/26 round, one of 23 New Zealand parks recognised internationally for park management, alongside a playground that covers everything from a digger toy to a full bike skills area.

Equipment

The playground includes a flying fox, a multi play structure with a slide, a digger toy, balance equipment, and swings, plus a skate park, pump track, and bike skills area for older kids and a basketball hoop nearby.

Access and Inclusion

The surface is bark chip. A shade sail covers the balance beams, though the rest of the equipment is unshaded; a gazebo shelters the picnic table and barbecue, and several trees are planted around the edges. Public toilets, a barbecue, picnic tables, seating, and tennis courts are all on site.
