Jellicoe Park Playground

Jellicoe Park Playground in Onehunga, Auckland, is a small children's play area set inside one of the city's oldest parks, with a junior multi-play structure, swings and musical play elements suited to toddlers and young children exploring under century old trees.

A junior multi-play structure with slide, a play car, swings including an infant swing, musical play elements and a spring loaded see-saw make up the play area.

History and Cultural

The wider park, originally called Green Hill Reserve, was renamed in 1921 for Governor General Viscount Jellicoe and formally opened in 1923 as a war memorial, with the scoria Arch of Remembrance added in 1929. The 1860 Onehunga Blockhouse nearby is one of the few surviving brick military strongpoints from the New Zealand Wars.

Public toilets, a drinking fountain and seating are on site, with on street parking along Trafalgar Street and a short walk to Onehunga town centre.
