Linton Camp Community Playground

Linton Camp Community Playground serves the family housing precinct of Linton Military Camp, New Zealand's largest Army base, just south of Palmerston North on Kippenberger Drive. Access is restricted to residents, base visitors and organised community events rather than being an open public park.

The playground provides timber play equipment for families living in the camp's housing precinct.

Practical Info

The same precinct runs Linton Kindergarten, a Linton Camp Childcare Centre and a Ministry certified Linton Littlies Playgroup, and the playground area has hosted outdoor movie nights for base families. Kippenberger Drive honours Major General Sir Howard Kippenberger, who led the 2nd New Zealand Division in the North African and Italian campaigns of the Second World War.
