Great place to walk the dog off-leash. We only go there when visiting Gisborne for Xmas, but there is plenty of space to play fetch, the river bank and tree groves for shade and different smells. We usually do two laps including a walk down the path to the bridge by the school (sorry don't know the name). We have seen some stupid dog owners there with uncontrolled dogs zooming around in packs, but this seems to be rare and the place is big enough to avoid them.

Brought kids along for hubby’s soccer game. Lovely park but no playground. Looks like it was taken out. There’s still some swings though

Great park. Space is a little underutilised but good if you are just looking for space.
