Papaioea Park gives you a nice park with a difficult entrance. Bordering two main streets, Ruahine Street and Featherstone Street, you pretty much have to make a decision if parking on the wrong one, i. e. on Ruahine Street: Do you jump the wall or walk all around? Mind you, parking is not that abundant, so it probably is a frequent decision to make. The park is a vast expanse of open, flat, unforgiven space, that can be used as sportgrounds, with a little playground and gym on the side. You'll find toilets nearby, some rubbish bins, but little seating, and only a few trees on its borders for shade. A rather underdeveloped park at present.

Why these ages?
Explicitly fenced and set well back from both Featherston and Ruahine Streets, with infant swing, assisted slide, spring toy and rotonet all catering to 2-4yos. Reviewer notes 'Nice and far from the road so I feel safe going with my 2 children.' Multi-play structure and spinner extend to older primary; adult exercise gear lets parents stay close. Less tween appeal.
Access notes
Equipment sits on bark surfacing per the description, a hard barrier for wheelchair access. Reviews also describe a difficult entrance where visitors must walk around or climb over a wall to reach the park, with limited parking, compounding access difficulty.
