Public toilets and a public BBQ are on site, along with a shower, useful given the beach is immediately alongside the reserve. Off street parking is available, and there is some tree shade over the picnic tables and seating, though the play equipment itself sits in the open. Auckland Council's smokefree policy applies. The playground was established in 2015.
