HistoryPuketawhero Park's community youth space was a Rotorua East Lions Club centennial project, developed in partnership with the Mokoia Community Association, Eastside Community Collective, Rotorua Lakes Council, and local schools. The Lions Club contributed 1,113 volunteer hours to build the community stage alone. The space includes the only outdoor mobility-accessible stage in Rotorua, a basketball half-court, a skate park, play areas, and a toddler bike track.

Unless you're here to pay sport you are probably never going to come here. Brand new Lions playground with awesome facilities for young and older kids. During the week it's fairly quiet and not a bad spot to take a break from driving. Come at it from the north, not Te Ngae Rd.

First time there, my mokoboy loved it. Paru people need to put the rubbish in the bin or take it home. Spacious, cool for small kids to ride their bikes, scooters etc. Needs shades and more seating, maybe picnic tables?
