Rockdale Park

Rockdale Park is a neighbourhood reserve at 401 Centre Street in Invercargill's Rockdale suburb, between Rockdale Road and Rannoch Street.

Equipment

A large carousel is the standout piece, offering a spinning ride accessible to toddlers with adult assistance. Swings, a tyre swing, a horse rocker and a see saw round out the equipment, on an artificial surface.

Access and Inclusion

Access is from Centre Street with on street parking nearby. No dedicated accessible pathway or inclusive equipment is documented for the site.

History and Cultural

Rockdale Park was established before 2019 as part of Invercargill City Council's neighbourhood reserve network serving the southern suburbs.

Practical Info

The playground is smokefree under Invercargill City Council policy. No shade covers the equipment or seating at midday in summer.
