Why these ages?

Basket swing bay and gentle embankment slide give toddlers an entry, and reviews confirm two playgrounds on site plus a shaded perimeter path good for prams and learner bikes. Obstacle-style layout with slalom poles, climbing module and balance logs skews toward primary kids who like a physical challenge. Skate area exists but is a separate zone within a large park.

Sunnynook Park's playground on Sunnynook Road pairs an obstacle style layout, slalom poles, a climbing module, balance logs and an embankment slide, with swings that include a basket swing for younger visitors. It suits primary aged kids who enjoy a physical challenge more than a straightforward climb and slide, while the basket swing and embankment slide give toddlers an easy way in.

Sunnynook Park is a fantastic community hub on the North Shore. It features a flat, approximately 1km concrete perimeter path that is perfect for walking, running, or kids learning to ride bikes. The park is well-equipped for families and athletes alike, offering: Two Playgrounds: Suitable for various ages, with one recently upgraded in front of the community centre. Sports & Fitness: Multiple playing fields for rugby and cricket, a skate bowl, and a dedicated outdoor exercise equipment area. Amenities: Clean public toilets, plenty of seating, and a large free parking lot. Convenience: Located just a short walk from the Sunnynook Shopping Centre and bus station. It is a pet-friendly space (dogs on leash) and a great spot for a weekend picnic under the mature trees.

Sunnynook Park has a whimsical bike/walking track; perfect for prams, toddlers, kids learning to ride, or a shaded running spot. The size of the park allows for much to be explored with two playgrounds, sports fields, a skate area, and a perimeter path. The parking on both entrances is ample as well as council facilities, rubbish bins, water fountains. This could be a park you could lose hours too, a great venue for a family celebration, picnic between friends, or space for the kids to run their energy out.
