Greville Reserve

Greville Reserve in Forrest Hill pairs a playground for a wide age range with a full activity park, including artificial turf sports fields, a skate area, and a learn-to-ride bike track laid over a large concrete reservoir.

Equipment

The playground has a multi-play structure with a slide, a bowl rocker, a spinner, swings including infant swings, a see-saw, a rotonet, balance beams, and musical play pieces, on a bark surface. Shade sails cover much of the equipment, though the picnic table and seating sit unshaded.

Access and Inclusion

An accessible path network runs through the reserve, workable for wheelchairs and prams. Toilets and changing rooms are on site, and the reserve opens 7am to 9pm in summer and 7am to 7pm in winter.

History and Cultural

Greville Reserve sits above the Devonport-Takapuna area on the North Shore, and the concrete reservoir beneath the bike track is one of its more unusual features; the reserve saw a significant upgrade around 2015 to 2016 that expanded the skate facilities and playground.
