Waihoihoi River Park

Waihoihoi River Park Playground sits beside the Waihoihoi River in the centre of Waipū village, built around a wheelchair accessible carriage swing and a gentle basket swing alongside a multi play structure with slide and a disk rocker. It is one of the more accessible playgrounds in the Whangarei district and suits a wide range of ages and mobility levels.

Equipment

The wheelchair accessible carriage swing is the standout feature, paired with an infant swing, a basket swing, a multi play structure with slide, and a disk rocker on a mixed artificial and bark surface. A skatepark sits on the same site for older kids.

Access and Inclusion

The accessible carriage swing makes this one of the easier playgrounds in the district for children with mobility needs. There is no shade directly over the equipment, though established trees nearby and one shaded seat offer some relief.
