This is a decent sized reserve space on the north end of Orewa beach. A well maintained public toilet is available on the premises. There are ample car parks on the reserve which make it very easy to access. The walks adjacent to Orewa beach start from here. On a high tide day, it is an ideal place for surfing too. The Alice Eves scenic reserve showcasing a 800 year old Kauri tree is very close by from here. It is highly recommended on a sunny day, since there are large trees under which one can relax and spend their time here.
Arundel Reserve
467 Hibiscus Coast Highway, Orewa 0931
Why these ages?
Modest local play beside Orewa Beach (drowning risk - surf, waves) and directly off Hibiscus Coast Highway (arterial road). Description calls it 'not a destination playground', more a 10-minute add-on to a beach trip. No fencing, no separation. Tween appeal minimal - they'll head to the beach.
Access notes
Description cites Google accessibility data confirming a step free entrance, but explicitly notes there is no record of wheelchair accessible play equipment or a separated junior area here, and no accessible parking or toilet is confirmed.

Equipment
Arundel Reserve sits at the very top of Orewa Beach in Auckland, a small park and play area that acts as the last stop before the full three kilometres of open sand begin. It's part of a dog-friendly run of Hibiscus Coast beachfront reserves patrolled by surf lifesavers each summer, so a visit here tends to be built around the beach first, with the play area a quick add-on rather than the main event.
