Why these ages?

Traditional playground on the Bayswater Peninsula — marina and ferry channel are close, no fencing around play area, so water risk is real if a toddler wandered off the reserve. Infant swing and climbing frames suit preschool-through-senior primary; flying fox mentioned but reviews call it rusty and small overall. Full renewal starts Sept 2026 so equipment quality is dated. Currently only middling for toddlers pending rebuild.

Access notes

Equipment sits on a mix of artificial and bark surfacing per the description, with bark forming a barrier in parts of the play area. Parking is ample and public toilets are close by. A council renewal from around September 2026 aims for more accessible equipment, but that work has not happened yet.

The ground is quite close to Belmont. It's got a good outfield and a cricket pitch for club games. There's ample parking 🅿️ right next to the ground. Public toilets also available. There's also a beautiful park close by for a good walk. …

It was fine. The flying fox is rusty and doesn't slide, the swings were down for maintenance. The wooden boards on the platforms are weathered and sagging. Pretty small overall. We will probably choose to go somewhere else next time.

Nice little play area. Wood chips need replenishing though. However I was impressed with how quickly the plastic swing buckets were replaced after they had been vandalised. Well done ACC.

Swings, climbing frame, slides, and a public toilet. Older but functional playground equipment on the edge of the sports fields. Ho hum however the kids seem to like it.
