Magic spot in the heart of Auckland city. A pier, a beach, shorewalk, shade under ancient old trees and lots of eateries. Great library across the road. Plus the stroll through the mainstreet is just lovely. Little galleries, jewelery shops, little surprises everywhere. My favorite part of Auckland.

Windsor Reserve
2 Victoria Road, Devonport, Auckland 0624
Why these ages?
Coastal waterfront reserve with 7.9m lighthouse tower (fall potential) and Devonport Beach adjacent (drowning risk). Toddler equipment exists (crawl tunnel, basket swing, spring rocker) but open reserve layout means water is nearby without fencing - parents must supervise. Older kids get climbing, slides, big frame.
Access notes
Description explicitly names an accessible basket swing within the three bay swing set, a transfer in seat rather than a swing the chair rolls onto. The play area connects to the reserve via wide grass paths rather than a formed path, a barrier for wheels even though the flat layout is described as easy to navigate.

Equipment
Windsor Reserve is Devonport's waterfront common, a wide grassy field running from the village shops down to the ferry terminal, with a coastal themed play area tucked at one end. A 7.9 metre tower modelled on the historic Bean Rock Lighthouse anchors the space, and the range of equipment around it suits toddlers through to around age twelve.
