  • HistoryBlake Park was officially designated as a recreational reserve in 1925, named after the government surveyor who mapped Mount Maunganui. Bay Oval cricket ground opened there in 2005 and Blake Park hosts the annual AIMS Games, which drew 13,000 participants.
