Equipment

Cafler Park on Water Street in central Whangarei combines a small children's playground with one of Northland's finest inner-city botanical gardens. The play equipment is compact and suited to younger children, but the surrounding 10-hectare reserve, with its rose garden, heritage specimen trees, and the adjacent Botanica conservatory, makes this a genuinely distinctive family destination in the heart of the city.

Great park to enjoy a picnic lunch, and watch the birds. Rose gardens are beautiful in season, (late Oct - peak early Nov to late April) with a pretty river, garden and trees. Lots of parking on road or in public car parks. #loveithere #whangareipark #LetsGuide #selfiespot #wheelchairaccessible

Lovely wide accessible pathways, shame about the roaming dogs and litter.

Nice shady place to sit and have morning tea or picnic. Roses are beautiful this time of year. Shame about loud music from neighboring industrial property.
