Access notes

The description explicitly states the flat grassed strip and river edge path suit pushchairs, giving a step free approach to the reserve. However the playground itself sits on a bark surface, a barrier for wheelchair users trying to reach the equipment, and the text explicitly notes no dedicated accessibility equipment is on site.

Great park. Lots of different activities to do and caters for all different age groups. Toilets are possibly a little basic but better than nothing.

Partner and I like to have a fish and chip picnic here, it's close to the fish and chip shop and has a couple of picnic tables also. Heaps of shade and beautiful scenery/sunset.

Nice little park with kids playground and seating area. Trees provide shade from the sun. Bonus of a cafe mere a few steps away. Also part of the Town Basin Loop walk. Small carpark next to the park

Lovely little park on the Hatea Loop walk, to stop and pick up a coffee from Kafe which is right next door. Either sit on one of the two BBQ tables or the concrete birds. Swings and a jungle gym for the kids.

Nice little park. A great spot for fish and chips on a summer's evening. Kafe next door for coffee, smoothies cake and pie. We use the car park when walking the loop. Really needs a public toilet.

A groovy place to sit with others (or not)and a coffee (why wouldn't you?) in the evening to put the world to rights whilst watching kyakers, joggers, dog walkers and fish leaping in the river.
