Great park. Lots of different activities to do and caters for all different age groups. Toilets are possibly a little basic but better than nothing.

Access notes
The description explicitly states the flat grassed strip and river edge path suit pushchairs, giving a step free approach to the reserve. However the playground itself sits on a bark surface, a barrier for wheelchair users trying to reach the equipment, and the text explicitly notes no dedicated accessibility equipment is on site.
What's here
Riverside Park is a small neighbourhood playground on Riverside Drive, on the bank of the Hatea River east of central Whangarei, where a compact play area meets an open grassed riverside reserve suited to toddlers and young children.
