The playground's main attraction is the big blue slide on the side. Though it also has swings, monkey bars, a maze, and a few others, too. The kids would love to ride their bike or scooter here. The space may be small, but they might enjoy the inclined trail in the middle (especially for those wee ones looking for adventure).
Cashmere Playground
73 Cashmere Road, Cashmere, Christchurch 8022
Why these ages?
One of Christchurch's few fully enclosed playgrounds per multiple reviews, with baby swing, junior slide, spring toys, maze and tubular slide covering 2-10. Toilets, cafe, picnic tables on site. Heathcote River across the road but fencing separates play zone from road and river. Ideal wander-safe spot for toddlers.
Access notes
Description explicitly states the play surface is Matta interlocking tiles, a firm rubber style surface good for wheelchair users, though no accessible toilet is confirmed and only on street parking serves the site.
What's here
Cashmere Playground at 73 Cashmere Road is fenced on the side facing the road, one of the more reliably secure spots in the southern suburbs for toddlers who wander, and best suited to ages 2 to 10. It sits at the foot of the Port Hills where Cashmere's streets give way to the Heathcote River valley, with the long green corridor of Ernle Clark Reserve running along the bank opposite.
