Clyde Street Recreation Reserve

Clyde Street Recreation Reserve is a small neighbourhood playground at 111 Clyde Street in Tokoroa, providing local greenspace for the surrounding residential community.

History and Cultural

Clyde Street Recreation Reserve is part of Tokoroa's network of small neighbourhood reserves, established as the town expanded rapidly from the late 1940s onward. Tokoroa was developed as a planned settlement to house workers for the Kinleith pulp and paper mill, and neighbourhood reserves like this one were built into the town's layout to ensure green space within walking distance of homes. The reserve was established prior to 2008. The reserve is classified as a Recreational Reserve by South Waikato District Council.
