Fairview Road Reserve

Fairview Road Reserve is a small neighbourhood playground in Western Heights, Rotorua, set back from Fairview Road with the play area kept away from the traffic.¹ It is a quick local stop rather than a destination, and one Google reviewer notes the reserve doubles as a walking shortcut to Fairview Park kindergarten on Fairview Road.²

Equipment

Rotorua Lakes Council lists slides, climbing, balance and hanging equipment here.¹ That mix suits preschoolers through to younger school-age kids who like to climb, balance and hang. The council register lists no swings at this reserve, so families after a swing set are better off at nearby Park Road Reserve.³

Practical Info

The council register lists no toilet, bench or skatepark at Fairview Road Reserve.¹ A Google reviewer's tip to bring a broom for the skatepark most likely refers to the council's Park Road skatepark, about 370 metres west. Park Road Reserve is the better choice for a longer visit, with swings, a toilet, a park bench, the skatepark and hard courts all listed there.³
