Hihiaua Park
197 Reyburn House Lane, Whangārei 0110
Why these ages?
Pure sand play space with no climbing or swings - built specifically for toddlers to dig and play. Sits directly on the Hatea River bank in the Town Basin with tidal water and boats; no described barrier, so a wandering 2-4yo could reach the water. Nothing for older kids beyond the sandpit.
Access notes
Description says the riverside path connects the play area to the wider Town Basin walkway, and a visitor review independently calls the walking path easy and great for all abilities. The play area itself is a sand surface with no accessible parking confirmed.
What's here
