Naish Park Playground

A triple decked lighthouse tower is the centrepiece of Naish Park playground in Balclutha, fitted with twin tube slides and a wave slide at its upper levels. It's a genuine destination build with a wide age range covered, from a toddler scaled Milk Tanker truck and trailer to a six metre climbing structure for older kids.

Equipment

The lighthouse tower's slides connect to the Grand Vista, a six metre structure with a climbing chimney, four ladders and two horizontal nets. A custom bank of nine swings includes a flying saucer triple frame that fits multiple riders at once, alongside standard bucket seats for toddlers. Younger children have their own dedicated piece, a custom Milk Tanker truck and trailer built at a lower, manageable scale. Fitness elements woven through the space include stepping logs, a balance beam, a tightrope walk, a chin up cube and a whisper glide. A further stage is planned to add a flying fox and more challenging elements for older children and adults.

Practical Info

A duck pond and small aviary sit within the park, and a bike park runs alongside the playground on its own sealed track. Toilets are on site and parking is off Charlotte Street. The Blair Athol Walkway, a six kilometre path along the Clutha Mata Au River, starts nearby, and the open layout makes supervision easy from most vantage points.
