Why these ages?

One slide + balance beam + wooden blocks, reviewers explicitly note 'missing a swing, sandbox and stuff for smaller children'. Slide is fast/slippery, sits on a slope with steps only, and disability commissioner criticised the lack of accessible route. Suits primary-age kids briefly. Not a toddler destination.

New Zealand Parliament Public Playground is a small playground on the parliamentary grounds in Pipitea, Wellington, tucked into the government precinct rather than a typical neighbourhood park. It opened in November 2019, with a slide as its main piece of equipment, set over bark surfacing with tree shade.

    The slide is the best looking and best design in New Zealand. It works well and loved by the children. The balance beam and blocks are a nice supplement to the slide. Unfortunately, the $572,000 price tag makes it the most ridiculously expensive playground, especially with what it get with that price. Great slide, not worth the price, and a great way to waste taxpayers money.

    In terms of the slide it works well and is very slippery, good corner action. Value for money at over $500k dragged the rating down

    Public playground within the New Zealand Parliament grounds. Has a nice, fast slide, long balance beams and wooden blocks to jump on to, and a few benches around it, under large trees that provide good shade. Missing a swing, sandbox and stuff for smaller children, also no water fountain, but all in all a nice playground, looks flash.

    Friendly playground just beside the beehive. Not much to see except for a bridge like slide.

    I expected more from a playground that cost $570,000 of taxpayer's money. The slide was completely underwhelming.
