The description states the surface under the Oratia Beauty tower and surrounding equipment is bark, and a review confirms soft fall surfacing throughout, which blocks wheeled mobility devices despite off street parking right by the playground.

Awesome park! Heaps of toys and games to play. Extensive football fields, small skate / scooter course track, sand pits, water courses and different types of swings. You can have bbq, play basketball and run in the surroundings. There are also a swimming school and cage to practice cricket. There is an official football field for the football school. In the shade, there are exercise sets of various kinds. Water fountains and clean toilets make this place ideal to bring kids.

Great fun lots to do, nice water 💦 features for the kids to play with - different manually activated/controlled devices to make the water flow from one side of the park to the other - helps build team work as you see the water flow with …

We visited Parrs Park and Playground today. Day overcast with a slight breeze and felt quite exposed. Flat tracks around the park - which is great for little tots and bikes (but also had an array of walkers/runners and dogs). Playground itself felt to cater for older kids. It had a water play area as well as sand. The main climbing area went high and had two slides - neither of which would be suitable for a pre-school age kid. A few other activity areas, but less inviting than other playgrounds we've frequented.

Great playground for kids! Giant tower to climb and two different slides - one half way up for younger kids, and one from the top. A nice water play feature and big sports fields to run around.

Water feature is the best part but hasn’t been working or shut off for at least a year now, really boring playground for younger kids otherwise

Haven’t been on this playground ever since I was a kid but I really enjoyed it. Getting up to the higher slide is quite a fun experience. The water features there are interesting to play with. The seesaw and other swingy thing is also fun. Also you can run around the ‘track’ for some exercise. 😂 …
