There are 2 playgrounds here! One for the little kids and one for the big kids. Very peaceful coming here early Sunday morning with the birds tweeting away.
Playground at Sports Reserve
Hanmer Springs 7334
Why these ages?
Split-age setup: younger kids' zone has climbing frame, infant swing, multi-play with slide, gazebos and shade sails over gravel; older kids' zone has rope swing and real climbing wall. Adult exercise gear around the perimeter is a genuine parent bonus. Skate park in the wider reserve draws scooters/bikes so watch tween wheels. Not fenced.
Access notes
The younger children equipment is set on a gravel surface, likely uneven for wheels though not the bark type described elsewhere. Off street parking and toilets are on site but no accessible parking bay or accessible toilet is specifically mentioned.
What's here
Hanmer Springs Sports Reserve's playground pairs standard swing-and-slide equipment for younger children with a rope swing and climbing wall that give older kids something to work for, plus a nearby skate park for scooters and bikes. It's the practical free alternative locals send visitors to when the thermal pools get busy, about a ten-minute walk from the pools complex on Jacks Pass Road.
