Point Erin Playground

Point Erin Playground at Te Oka, Pt Erin Park in Westhaven is built around a multi play structure with a slide, swings, an infant swing, a see saw and spring toys, with a ramp for level access into the play area and a paddling pool alongside. It suits toddlers through to primary school age, and the ramp makes it genuinely easy to wheel a pram or wheelchair straight in.

The multi play structure and slide anchor the site, with the infant swing, see saw and spring toys giving younger children plenty to do, and the paddling pool adding a water play option in summer. The surface is bark, with some shade for the equipment.

Access and Inclusion

A ramp provides level access into the play area, useful for prams and wheelchairs. Toilets and changing facilities are on site, and the park is adjacent to Pt Erin Pool, which has hydroslides, a spa pool, a toddlers pool and a competition pool, though entry to the pool itself costs money.

Practical Info

Off street parking with mobility spaces is available from Sarsfield Street, and the gates are open from 6am to 10pm daily. A drinking fountain, a barbecue, picnic tables and a basketball half court round out the park, a short distance from the Freemans Bay and Ponsonby shops.
