Great park, good facilities and toilets. Nice tram running from the entrance of the park to the other side near the beach part with views of Kapiti Island, operating from 11am till 4pm. Bikes and dog friendly, very spacious with different pathways at the centre to Paraparaumu (North) or Paekakariki (South). Plenty of parking around, taseal paths throughout.

I have always loved this park. It's beautifully maintained, has walks, access to beaches, plenty of parking, park benches, and quieter spots to make your own. There are toilets, places to ride horses, events that go on, a tourist information site, some other items of interest to peruse. You could happily spend the day here, alone, with family, etc. It feels safe and has everything to keep you occupied - or space and quiet to read a book. Also plenty of shaded spots

Best place in Wellington/Kapiti region to take your dogs and run them off leash on the beach!! Great walks for the whole family to get your steps up! And its all FREE:) heaps of picnic tables dotted everywhere to use. Love this place. See you there!

A nice place to visit on sunny days especially on summer. You can go for bike trail ride. Enjoy the beach, visit the Tram Museum and former Yankee military base. You can park your car on the designated car park on the beach or you can leave your car at the car park on Tram Museum and take the Tram Train to the beach for 5 mins ride. You can ride the train unlimited for the day just for 1 fare.
