Why these ages?

Right behind Whangarei i-SITE on SH1 - state highway traffic close by, though reviewer confirms play area is a short walk from parking and surrounded by grass buffer. Infant swing and multi-play with slide serve toddlers; rotonet, spinner and on-site skatepark suit older kids. Nothing standout for tweens.

Access notes

Description states the playground is bark surfaced, which blocks a full wheelchair accessible rating. A review mentions a security guard checking a disability parking permit on site, suggesting a mobility parking space exists near the toilets.

Equipment

Tarewa Park in Raumanga pairs a medium sized playground with a role as a green trailhead for Whangarei's shared path network, sitting right behind the city's i-SITE Visitor Information Centre on State Highway 1. Dogs are welcome across the open grass, and the park quietly hosts one of the district's biggest environmental engineering projects underground.

Stopped to use the toilets. They were clean. A security guard walked up to my truck to check if I had a disability card which I do. Some places I've visited over the years are now becoming so racist.

A nice park with plenty of walking trails and a really nice play area for young children. The local information site/cafe is adjacent so you can also get a meal or just a caffeine fix while you're there. I've walked and bicycled here in the past. There are also large enough areas for rugby.

Lots of rope climbing activities at this play park, in a safe location not far from the car park. It's not fenced but it's surrounded by grass. A few small swings and a nice slide. Looks well maintained and was clean and tidy.

The park next to the shopping centre is a small grass strip next to the shopping centre, with a seat and a stream. If you can easily tune out the nearby traffic you'll find it refreshing. But by no stretch is the a spacious or quiet park

Tarewa Park is a very clean environment and child friendly as there is a park and a field which is used by the public. There is free WiFi on offer as there is a cafe on site but I cannot tell you much about the place as I did not use it. There are also toilets available to the public and a shower facility that you pay for at a reasonable price but I am unsure if that stays open all night sorry as after hours the toilets are shut except for one that remains open 24 hours as this park is open to the public as an overnight stay, which many people come to and sleep in their camper vans and vehicles. They also use their cookers to cook and once finished, they clean up after themselves. And so that's my experience of this park as I spent one night there also and I felt safe knowing there were others sleeping overnight too.
